(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Friday chaired an online meeting between the Government and localities on socio-economic performance in the first half of 2021 and tasks and solutions for the last half. He urged determination to implement the dual goal of pandemic control and socio-economic development.

Prime Minister Chinh asked local leaders to understand the spirit of thinking truthfully, telling the truth, doing real, and being effective in order to assess the situation in the past six months. Experienced provinces can give lessons to other provinces. Ministries and sectors must deal with local problems in the spirit of three nos: don't say no, don't say difficult, don't say yes but do nothing, said the Prime Minister.

Duong Van Thai, Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee, said that the Government’s management has created people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State, and strengthened national unity.

“Vietnam’s economy grew 5.64% in the first half of this year. Major balances of the economy were guaranteed, while many socio-economic indicators increased sharply against last year. The Government and the Prime Minister adopted aggressive measures such as three nos and five yes, and promoted decentralization. Local leaders like us find this method practical," said Mr. Thai.

Closing the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh emphasized tasks for the second half of 2021 to achieve the growth target of 6%-6.5%.
