Despite the pandemic, favourable conditions were created for Vietnamese students to attend regional and international Olympiads and the significant efforts paid off. All 24 students from five national teams achieved awards at Olympiads in 2020 including nine golds, eight silvers, five bronzes and two certificates of merit. Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc acknowledged and highly valued the efforts and achievements of the education sector and students. He attributed the achievements to the efforts of the students themselves under the guidance of their teachers and with the attention of their parents throughout the learning process. The Prime Minister called for comprehensive renewal of the education sector: “I ask the educational sector to promote complete and fundamental renovation for comprehensive Vietnamese human development towards solid knowledge and skills as well as creative thinking to ensure career building to their fullest strengths, thus contribute positively to national development.”

The Prime Minister expressed his hope that students will continue to pursue their dreams and strive to become major contributors to society.
