He said Vietnam is one of 6 countries hardest hit by climate change. At the World Leaders Summit of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), Vietnam pledged to reduce net emissions to zero by 2050 and reduce 30% of methadone by 2030. Vietnam’s commitment is in line with its program on national economic restructuring and the world trends of moving toward green economy, circular economy, and digital economy.

The Prime Minister suggests ways to realize the commitment which include focusing on green energy, clean energy, methadone reduction, reducing GHS emission and use of fossil fuel, promoting the use of electric vehicles, expanding the forest coverage, boosting the production of green construction materials, developing green urban areas, boosting digital transformation, and enhancing communication to encourage the public and businesses to join the effort.

The Prime Minister asked for strengthening cooperation with partners, donors, and scientists to mobilize resources to realize the commitment.
