Addressing an online meeting with heads of Vietnamese representative missions abroad on promoting economic diplomacy for national development on Monday, Prime Minister Chinh said Vietnam is continuing to fine tune the socialist-oriented market economy, a socialist state governed by law, and socialist democracy that takes people as the center, the subject, the goal, motivation, and resource for development, maximizes the intelligence, talents, qualities and ethics of Vietnamese people, not sacrifices social progress, justice, security, and the environment in exchange for mere economic growth.

He suggested that diplomacy should take full advantage and bring into full play the country's potential and new strength; be proactive and active in creating a favorable situation for Vietnam’s peace, security and development; and promote tourist attraction, with emphasis on creating conditions for visas for international visitors and at the same time, continuing to focus on and well implement the protection of citizens.

“I wish and believe that with the joint effort and consensus, the diplomatic sector, overseas representative agencies, departments, ministries, localities and enterprises will effectively deliver the diplomatic motto "affection, sincerity, trust, equality, respect, effectiveness, mutual development". We will continue to achieve new and more important achievements, contribute more to national industrialization and modernization, build an independent, self-reliant economy but actively integrate into the world, all for prosperity of the country and for the happy and prosperous life of the People,” PM Chinh said.

The PM emphasized that Vietnam resolutely and persistently struggles to firmly protect its independence, sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, political stability, social order and safety, carry out the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralisation, be a good friend, a reliable partner and a responsible member of the international community, be determined to build an independent, self-reliant economy, actively integrate into the world, and take internal strength as the basic, long-term decision, external force as important breakthrough.
