He urged ministries, sectors, localities, and every individual to absorb the spirit of “Fighting the epidemic is fighting the enemy” and accept economic loss in return for people’s lives and health. He ordered strengthened disciplines and rule of law and no complacency and no negligence to promptly detect sources of infection, quickly implement quarantine, and radically eliminate the epidemic.
The Prime Minister asked chairpersons of the provincial People’s Committees to ban gatherings of more than 20 people in a room and gatherings of more than 10 people outside of offices, schools and hospitals, and keep the 2-meter distance with others in public places. He ordered a full suspension of all public religious services and closures of non-essential services and tourist spots, except for those selling food and essential goods. The ban will be effective from 0am on Saturday until 12pm April 15.
The Prime Minister urged people to stay indoors and only go out for essentials, and recommended switching to working online to help stop the spread of the disease.
The National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control was asked to lead ministries, sectors, and localities in preparing personnel, equipment, medical supplies, and anti-pandemic plans, including mobilizing facilities of organizations and businesses, and the application of the state of epidemic emergency.
The Prime Minister also urged for specific, effective solutions to shore up production and businesses, and ensure social security.
