On Tuesday, he met with UK Crown Prince Charles and the Prime Ministers of Japan and India on the sidelines of the COP 26 in Glasgow, Scotland.
Meeting with Crown Prince Charles, the Prime Minister congratulated the UK on its successful organization of COP26, reiterating Vietnam’s resolve to achieve the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050 and shift to the green, circular economy. He proposed that the UK cooperate and support Vietnam in implementing programs and projects to transform into a low-carbon economy.
Crown Prince Charles said he hopes to promote the Vietnam-UK cooperation in environmental protection and biodiversity conservation projects.

While meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister Chinh suggested that Japan continue supporting Vietnam in COVID-19 prevention and control.
He also suggested that the two sides work harder for their agricultural products and fruits to penetrate deep into each other’s markets. He affirmed Vietnam welcomes and creates favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises to do business and expand operations in Vietnam.
The two PMs also discussed climate change response and coordination at regional and international forums. They stressed the need to maintain peace, stability, security and safety in the East Sea and East China Sea.

At their meeting, PM Chinh and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi agreed to boost all-level meetings through party, state, government, parliament and people channels and coordinate to organize activities marking the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties next year, and to foster people-to-people exchanges and cultural and tourism ties after the pandemic is brought under control.
Vietnam and India will also strengthen collaboration in regional and international issues, and support each other at multilateral forums, they said. Prime Minister Chinh said he hopes India will continue to export vaccines and provide treatment drugs and medical supplies to Vietnam.
The same day, PM Pham Minh Chinh met with Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin, Kuwaiti Prince Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Special Envoy of US President on Climate Change John Kerry and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi.
