Speaking to over 700 Vietnamese and Korean businesses attending the Vietnam-Republic of Korea Business Forum in Seoul on Thursday, Mr. Phuc said:“Vietnam and the Republic of Korea have enjoyed strong partnership in health care, finance, insurance, culture, sports and human resources training. There has been an increasing number of Koreans learning Vietnamese language and Vietnamese learning Korean language. Similarity in culture between the two nations have contributed to bilateral economic and investment cooperation achievements.”
The Prime Minister underlined that Vietnam supports and creates all conditions for the Korea to implement the New Southern Policy initiated by President Moon Jae-in. He reiterated the goal of achieving 100 billion USD in two-way trade value, while expressing his hope that the RoK will further open door for Vietnamese goods. Within the framework of the forum, 33 memoranda of understanding worth nearly 20 billion USD were signed.
The Prime Minister had meetings with Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki, FKI Chairman Huh Chang-soo and chairmen of some leading Korean groups to the forum like Shinhan Bank and SK Energy.
