Permanent Court of Arbitration opens office in Hanoi

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and Secretary General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) Marcin Czepelak inaugurated the PCA's representative office in Hanoi on Thursday and attached a signboard "House of Peace" to the head office.

Mr. Son said that Vietnam appreciates the PCA’s contributions to the settlement of disputes between countries and organizations, and ensuring the compliance with international law, and maintenance of international peace and security.

The inauguration of the PCA office in Hanoi demonstrates Vietnam’s strong commitment to promoting multilateralism and upholding the UN Charter and international law as well as including peaceful settlement of international disputes.

The PCA Secretary General affirmed that the inauguration of the PCA office in Hanoi is an important milestone for bilateral partnership and cooperation. He expressed his belief that the office in Vietnam will operate effectively, maintaining the PCA’s prestige in international dispute settlement.
