Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong (R) receives Party leader and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith in Hanoi on August 9, 2019.

Both leaders expressed their pleasure over the Vietnam-Lao special solidarity which they said have developed substantially, benefited people of each country, and contributed to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the wider world. They applauded their great mutual support and assistance and vowed closer coordination to effectively implement agreements reached by the two countries’ leaders and foster close ties between the two countries for future generations.

The Vietnamese and Lao leaders informed each other of the situation of their Party and country, particularly party building and preparations for party congresses at various levels towards the national congress of each Party. They also discussed measures to boost the Vietnam-Lao special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.
