The event called “Power of humanity 2019” organized by the Vietnam Red Cross Society to raise money for the poor and the victims of Agent Orange dioxin as the Lunar New Year festival (Tet) approaches.

“I appreciate the initiative of the Vietnam Red Cross Society for organizing the annual 'Power of humanity' program with a sound purpose. I welcome and thank important contributions of agencies, organizations, businesses, philanthropists, and people to Red Cross Society’s humanitarian activities. Thanks to the contributions, millions of disadvantaged people have overcome difficulties and humanitarian values have been spread in the community,” Mr. Trong said.

Nearly 2.5 million USD and more than 2 million gifts were donated during the event.
