Truong Thi Mai made the statement at Friday’s reception in Hanoi for Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Vice Standing Chairman of the Sangha's Executive Council. The Most Venerable was reporting on the outcomes of the Sangha’s 8th National Congress.
Mai said she believes that after the Congress the Sangha will continue to encourage Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns, and followers to follow the Party’s guidelines and the State’s laws, implement citizens’ responsibilities and duties, and live in harmony between Buddhism and other religions.
