(VOVworld) - Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong has asked Tra Vinh province to fulfill tasks set at the 9^th provincial Party Congress and set out long-term targets to ensure local economic growth in the next decade. During a meeting with Tra Vinh leaders on Sunday, Mr. Trong said: "Tra Vinh is endowed with potentials for agricultural development. In the short run, it’s necessary to focus on improving agricultural production efficiency in rice cultivation, husbandry, and aquaculture, while making full use of land resources. It’s also important to boost human resource development through vocational training, occupational restructuring, and applying high-technologies in agricultural development."
Trong asked Tra Vinh province to pay due attention to irrigation activities to deal with saline intrusion, climate change, and a rising sea level. He asked local authorities to complete assigned tasks regarding ethnic and religious affairs to enhance national unity.
