(VOVworld) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong yesterday paid a working visit to the southern province of Binh Phuoc to inspect the implementation of resolutions adopted at the 11th National Party Congress and the provincial Party Congress on social-economic development and Party building. Trong urged the province to apply creativity in building new rural areas, but preserve the typical characteristics of Vietnam’s country side and ethnic groups. Trong said: “Building new rural areas in the context of urbanization and industrialization will create a transformation of cities and rural areas. Local authorities should creatively apply criteria for building new rural areas in the way that modernizes and urbanizes, while still preserving the national character and maintaining the unique cultural tradition of Vietnam’s countryside”.

At a working session with the province’s key leaders, Trong asked them to pay attention to regional unity, manage and use resources effectively, and issue policies and mechanisms to attract more domestic and foreign investment. Trong said: “The province’s biggest potential is land, especially forest land that is the residents’ means of existence. Therefore, it’s necessary to manage land effectively, use and manage mineral resources reasonably, and reduce negativity to a minimum. Moreover, the province’s leaders should combine building new rural areas, exploiting and developing industrial crops and the processing industry, and changing the structure of crop plants and domestic animals”.
Trong called on the province to continue implementing the national unity policy, and building friendships and partnerships with friendly countries’ localities.
Earlier, Trong and his entourage visited the Corps 16, which is stationed in Binh Phuoc, Dac Nong, and Dac Lac province.
