The meeting discussed the Project "Amendment and supplementation of functions, tasks and powers of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-corruption” to enable the Committee to direct the prevention and fight against both corruption and wrongdoings in the coming time.

At the meeting, Party General Secretary Trong said progress has been made in fighting degradation of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation". He urged for more aggressive measures and said revising the functions, tasks and powers of the Steering Committee is essential and contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

The Politburo has agreed to rename the Central Steering Committee for Anti-corruption as the Central Steering Committee for Anti-corruption and Anti-wrongdoings to fully cover the functions, tasks and powers of the Committee. The decision affirms the Party and State’s determination to unceasingly clean up the contingent of cadres and party members to meet the requirements and trust of the people towards the Party’s leadership.
