The meeting chaired by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said that as Vietnam will continue to face challenges, it’s necessary to promptly and effectively implement the resolutions of the fifth plenum of the 13^th Party Central Committee, three National Target Programs, the Socio-economic Recovery and Development Program, the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Program in the next two years, and resolutions of the National Assembly on investment policies on highway projects.

The Party urged for active, uniform, and flexible fiscal, monetary and other macroeconomic policies, curbing inflation and stabilizing the macro-economy. There should be appropriate mechanisms to provide timely support for businesses and people, especially the poor and low-income workers under the pressure of rising commodity prices and production and living costs, the meeting said.

It called for consistent implementation of policies on expanding foreign relations, closely monitoring global and regional developments for appropriate plans to ensure the highest interests and national security of Vietnam, and for peace, cooperation and development of the region and the wider world.
