Party leader Trong said the visit is meaningful as Vietnam and Laos are celebrating their Year of Friendship and Solidarity 2022 and successful organization of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations and 45 years of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the capital city of each country.

Party leader Trong emphasized the effective cooperation between the two capitals, including the exchange of experiences in Party building, cooperation in economy, trade, investment and infrastructure construction, human resources development, and the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.

He expected that Vientiane will continue to closely coordinate with Hanoi and other provinces and cities of Vietnam to enhance information exchange and comprehensive experience sharing in various fields. The two capital cities need to work together to successfully implement the Resolution of the National Congress of each Party, he said.

The Lao guest conveyed cordial greetings of Party General Secretary and President of Laos Thoonglun Sisulit to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. He expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Vietnamese people will continue to gain greater achievements.
