(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on Saturday chaired a meeting with more than 250 former senior leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front. The event organized by the Party’s Politburo and Secretariat marked the beginning of the 2022 spring and the 92nd anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, February 3.

Sincerely extending best wishes to the delegates and their families, Mr. Trong said Vietnam has just gone through Year of the Buffalo 2021 full of important, vibrant events which left good impressions and contributed to strengthening people's trust in the Party and State.

“We innovate working method, leaders clearly assign responsibilities. Discipline must be strict, especially solidarity, consensus, and democracy must be upheld. In the current complicated pandemic conditions, we are caring for people's lives. The total cost of taking care of nearly 58 million policy beneficiaries and workers amounted to 8.3 trillion VND (363 million USD) during Lunar New Year holidays.”

Party leader Trong urged the entire Party, army and people to make grater effort and stay united to continue to adopt the right policy to steer the country toward sustainable development. This calls for responsible and passionate opinions of senior cadres of the Party and State, he said.
