Opening the session in Hanoi on Saturday, Mr. Trong  emphasized that this session has special significance as it will consider introducing "special" personnel for re-election and first-time members of the Party Central Committee, nominating four key leaders, and discuss other important issues.

Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong said, “Receiving comments of the Party Central Committee’s 14^th plenum, the Sub-Committee for Personnel and the Politburo studied, considered, and proposed introducing some additional people to join the Party Central Committee for the first time and a number of members of the 12^th Party Central Committee as “special” cases to be re-elected."

He asked the Party Central Committee members to carefully study the Politburo's report and related documents, discuss and contribute ideas to complete the 12^th Party Central Committee’s Report on Personnel Work, while nominating candidates to four key positions of the 13^th term.

The Party Central Committee’s 15^th plenum is scheduled to close on Monday.
