(VOVWORLD) - Overseas Vietnamese have hailed the success of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

Luu Cong Niem, Chairman of the Vietnamese Veterans Association in Russia, said local overseas Vietnamese rejoiced that the Congress approved policies and elected moral and talented leaders to help Vietnam continue to develop in the coming years.

"The Congress was a great success. It elected experienced individuals and some young people. Vietnam has done a good job of containing COVID-19 while ensuring economic growth. We believe the current Party Commitee will help Vietnam achieve its goal — to grow and integrate into the world," said Mr. Niem.

Dao Dai Hai, Vice Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Saint Peterburg, said the Congress was a major political event, marking a new development step for Vietnam. He said he hopes the policies to safeguard national sovereignty and independence and ensure economic growth will be effectively implemented.
