(VOVworld) – Buon Ma Thuot city in the Central Highlands province of Dac Lac has convened its overseas Vietnamese, who were back home for Tet celebration, in a new-year meeting to tighten the bond between the expatriates and the homeland. Ho Langlet David, who is French-Vietnamese, said at yesterday’s meeting: I have been in France a long time. Now I want to return to Vietnam to live and work. I see that the province has developed significantly in economics and infrastructure. I feel happy and honored to be invited by local authorities to this reunion. I hope such an event will be held annually for overseas Vietnamese to reunite and review the province’s achievements.

There are currently 1800 Buon Ma Thuot citizens living in 20 countries and territories around the world. Many of them have made significant contributions to social activities in their hometown.
