(VOVworld) More than 100 overseas Vietnamese and their relatives were briefed on the most important content of the 2013 Constitution, at a meeting on Tuesday held by Ho Chi Minh City’s Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs. The Deputy Director of HCMC’s Department of Justice, Tran Van Bay, provided participants with the new content of the Constitution and the state and people’s responsibilities to implement and protect it. The Constitution stipulates that human rights are people’s natural rights since birth while citizens’ rights are associated with citizens’ nationality and are ensured by the government.

Delegates agreed and supported the new content of the Constitution, especially the government’s responsibilities and measures to guarantee, acknowledge, respect, and implement human and citizens’ rights as stipulated in the Constitution.
