Among the participants were Former State President Nguyen Minh Triet, former Vice President Truong My Hoa, and Ms. Tran To Nga, a French citizen of Vietnamese origin and an Agent Orange victim who has spent more than one-third of her life to seeking justice for victims of Agent Orange/dioxin in international courts.
Also present were leaders of the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, ambassadors, consuls general, representatives from foreign diplomatic missions, as well as French, US, and Korean NGOs.
During the event, the organizers presented 20 gifts and 5 wheelchairs to Agent Orange/dioxin victims. Many organizations and individuals contributed to the Ho Chi Minh City “For Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin” Fund. According to the city’s Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, 4.8 million Vietnamese were exposed to Agent Orange/dioxin due to the chemical used by the US military during the war in Vietnam. Since 1975, nearly one million people have died from the long-term effects of Agent Orange/dioxin.
