Colonel Vu Van Hau, deputy head of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security’s Department of Drug Crime Investigation, told a press conference in Hanoi on Tuesday:
“The biggest success of the meeting was reaching consensus on information and experience sharing and ways to combat drug crimes via roads, sea routes, airways, and postal routes. Participants reached the greatest consensus on guidelines and measures to control borders and launch crackdowns on drug crimes and transnational drug rings.”
On the initiative of host country Vietnam, group meetings were held involving Cambodia, Laos, China, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam, the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Australian Federal Police (AFP), and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
