According to VFDA President Ngo Phuong Lan, images of the Vietnamese landscape and people, its filmmaking environment, and relevant procedures were introduced to attract foreign filmmakers to Vietnam. The Association stands ready to support directors and producers who are interested in making a film in Vietnam, she said.

The VFDA was established on July 25 to encourage the production of commercial films and help foreigners make films in Vietnam.
