The Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports said that this will be the first time Vietnam hosts this tournament. More than 600 athletes have registered to compete, including 300 swimmers from 21 countries. There will be individual races of 10km, 5km, 2km and 3x800m team relay, and a 800m race for children.

Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, said: “The organizers have chosen and recognized the potential of the waters of Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa province, to organize the swimming tournament. It is not just a sport competition but combines sport and culture and tourism. Once the first tournament in Vietnam is great success, it will help lure tourists and boost locals’ enthusiasm for swimming.”
Oceanman swimming tournament started in 2015 and 27 competitions have so far been held in 23 countries.
