US President Barack Obama, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau discussed how to improve economic competitiveness, trade exchange and issues relating to energy, climate change, regional and global cooperation, security, and defense.

They analyzed the impacts of Brexit in order to come up with appropriate measures to minimize any negative effects. The Latin-American situation was also on the agenda, including the signing of a ceasefire between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and cooperation among Central American countries to combat violence and crime.
US, Mexican, and Canadian leaders signed a trilateral agreement on the environment with a commitment to reduce methane emissions between 40 to 45% and produce 50% of their electricity from clean energy by 2025.
