Nigeria is one of Vietnam's priority partners in Africa

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam values the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Nigeria and considers Nigeria one of its priority partners in Africa, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc said during a meeting with Vice President of Nigeria Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday.

At the meeting in Hanoi, President Phuc and Vice President Osinbajo agreed on measures to boost bilateral cooperation, to actively coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums, strengthen trade cooperation through promotion activities, and create favorable conditions for market access for the strong commodities of each country.

The two sides said they want to strengthen investment cooperation, facilitate businesses of the two countries to seek opportunities and implement projects in potential fields like exploration, development and supply of oil and gas services and information technology.

Given the important role of agriculture in the two countries' economies, the two leaders agreed to identify agriculture as one of the key areas of cooperation. Vice President Osinbajo said Nigeria wants Vietnamese businesses to boost investment in the Nigerian market in agricultural product processing, digital economy, telecommunications, and renewable energy.
