The recipient is the healthcare centre of Van Yen district in the northern province of Yen Bai. The sponsor, Phil Jordan, has been working in Vietnam for many years. He has raised funds online to support VinaCapital Foundation’s “Survive to Thrive” program which aims to help reduce the mortality of premature babies in Vietnam.

In September 2019, he took part in a 42km-long run in the Vietnam Mountain Marathon in the resort town of Sa Pa. Throughout the event, Jordan and his family called for the community to make donations via website GoFunMe, successfully raising more than 10,600 USD.
