The United Nations, including the General Assembly, must continue to reform and transform and strengthen their cooperation through trust, he told reporters after taking the oath as president of the General Assembly. He said he plans to pursue an integrated agenda of peace and security, human rights, and sustainability — three mutually reinforcing goals.

He said his priorities will be standing firm on the basic principles of the UN Charter, making significant and measurable progress on sustainability transformation, aiming at integrated systemic solutions, enhancing the role of science in decision shaping, and increasing solidarity.

The upcoming session of the General Assembly will begin on Tuesday. The motto of Korosi's presidency is "Solutions through solidarity, sustainability, and science."
