(VOVWORLD) - Restaurant, stores, and entertainment spots in Ho Chi Minh City have been closed temporarily to slow down the spread of Covid-19.

Taxi driver Nguyen Van Ngoc, who lives in District 7, has been off from work over the past few days. He said: “The Covid-19 outbreak has greatly impacted our daily routine. Many stores have been shut. Local people strictly follow the Prime Minister’s instruction by not going out if not necessary, not hoarding goods, and ordering online."

Many restaurants and public places in District 8 in Ho Chi Minh City have turned deserted. Tran Xuan Dai, a Ho Chi Minh City resident, told VOV: “Local people are abided by official instructions to protect their health. They wear facemasks when getting outdoor, avoid public spaces, and stay at home as much as possible. Everyone is ready to join efforts to curb the pandemic and resume their daily lives.”

Meanwhile in Hanoi, shops of non-essential products and religious centers have halted their operation. Catholic followers, which are often busy this time of the year at churches for festivals, have been ordered to practice their religion at home.
