(VOVworld) - A new decree provides some policies to support the development of modern off-shore fishing methods and boost the incomes of fishermen. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh, at a national conference on Thursday, announced government decree No. 67, which encourages fishermen to build high-capacity, iron-clad ships that will earn them higher incomes and, at the same time, help defend Vietnam’s territorial waters. Those who borrow money to build ships will receive a preferential interest rate of 1 to 3 percent per year, currently the lowest rate for an 11-year loan.
