Dinh Duc Hoang, Deputy General Manager of the UNESCO Vietnam Information Center, gave four reasons for the NICE project.

“First, social issues are varied so varied solutions are needed. Second, there are numerous initiatives right now because the community is concerned about numerous issues and ways to solve them. Third, many of these initiatives are unable to access funding. And fourth, we believe the media is part of the solution,” said Hoang.

Thousands of volunteers, non-governmental organizations, and social enterprises operate in Vietnam. They are conducting non-profit projects to deal with community problems but find it hard to access media channels and funding.
