The opening session is broadcast live by Voice of Vietnam (VOV1), Vietnam Television (VTV1) and National Assembly Television.

During the 21-day session, deputies will spend most of the time on law-making and supreme supervision. They will consider and approve 7 law projects, 3 draft resolutions and give opinions on 7 other bills.

Before the opening of the session, leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front and National Assembly deputies laid wreaths and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum.
