As planned, the swearing-in ceremony of the President will be broadcast live on the national mass media, from 10 am to 11 am on the same day.

A day earlier, on Wednesday,  the 13th Party Central Committee met to review and give opinions on cadre work. The Committee recommended personnel to be elected as the President of Vietnam for the term 2021-2026.

On January 18, at its 3rd Extraordinary Session, the National Assembly dismissed Nguyen Xuan Phuc from his post as President of Vietnam. Vo Thi Anh Xuan has assumed Acting Presidency until the National Assembly elects a new President.
