Deputy Le Thanh Van from Ca Mau province suggested the government or the National Assembly look into the possibility of enacting a law on economic security. He said: “This originates from threats against Vietnamese economic security. For instance, the illegal 9-dash line in tourism industry and other sectors, coastal property projects, land use zoning and cultural security threats as well as impact from globalization in the context of Covid-19. Countries have tightened their economic security to foster internal resources and domestic market safety.”

Deputy Truong Trong Nghia representing Ho Chi Minh city stressed the need of a bill on security and defense in attracting foreign investment projects to prevent hostile forces from causing instability in Vietnam.
