(VOVworld) - The Prime Minister has approved a national action program on sustainable production and consumption until 2020 with a vision to 2030. 

The program aims to gradually shift towards sustainable production and consumption through promoting the more effective use of green and renewable resources and energy, limiting the discharge of waste and encouraging waste recycle. From 2016-2020, the main objective of the program is to raise the application of green technology among enterprises that have high energy needs and emissions. Other targets include making 50 percent of industrial producers apply green and energy-saving production measures, and cutting the use of eco-unfriendly packaging in super markets, trade centers and open markets by between 50-65 percent.
