NA’s second extraordinary meeting: National Master Plan under review

(VOVWORLD) - Lawmakers on Friday agreed on the need to complete and implement the National Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050 to create an impetus for national development.

Deputy Hoang Van Cuong from Hanoi, said at the National Assembly’s ongoing extraordinary session: “The draft National Master Plan specifies a national development strategy and allocates human resources to different sector, fields, and development processes. It also specifies areas of potential, national growth pillars, and economic corridors.”

NA deputies requested classification of several important issues in the National Master Plan, including exploiting the potential of the marine economy; climate change adaptation; sustainable development; development of science, technology, and human resources; and improving links between economic zones, growth pillars, and planning in border areas.  

Under the National Master Plan, Vietnam is set to become by 2030, a developing country with modern industry, upper-middle income, and economic growth based on technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

By 2050, Vietnam is set to become a developed nation with high income and an equitable, democratic, and civilised society.

The GDP growth is poised to average 7% annually from 2021 to 2030. By 2030, GDP per capita will be approximately 7,500 USD.
