(VOV) - The National Assembly's Economic Committee has convened its fifth meeting in Hanoi to ratify a report on this year’s socio-economic development and the revised land law. Participants affirmed that the country’s socio-economic development has seen positive changes thanks to solutions to curb inflation and stabilize the macro-economy continuing to take effect. The credit interest rate has declined while the structure of credits has been re-arranged with more given to agriculture, rural development, exports, and small and medium-sized enterprises. Improvements have been made in social security and welfare, administrative reforms, settlement of denunciations and complaints, and the fight against corruption and waste. From now until the end of the year, delegates called for solutions to deal with difficulties in production and business, stabilize the macro-economy, and ensure sustainable poverty reduction. The overall goal for next year’s socio-economic development is to strengthen macro-economic stabilization with a lower inflation rate and a higher growth rate than in this year.  Three strategic breakthroughs will be prioritized relating to the national economic restructuring, shifting of the national growth strategy, and ensuring social security and welfare. Participants agreed on the revised land law stipulating, plans to use land at different levels, supplement plans for land use in economic zones, and the combining of grassroots level and higher level land use plans. According to deputies, the revised bill will link provinces, improve the quality of planning, reduce costs, and shorten the time for designing land use plans at the grassroots level.
