NA Chairwoman suggests labor cooperation agreement with Latvia

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam and Latvia need to strengthen delegation exchanges and meetings at multilateral forums to discuss issues of mutual concern, said National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

At a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday for visiting Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics, Ms. Ngan called on both sides to create favorable conditions for their businesses to access each other’s market, saying Vietnam is calling for investment from Latvian business. She suggested that both countries study an agreement on labor cooperation.

Chairwoman Ngan asked for Latvia’s support for the EU Parliament’s prompt ratification of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement and the Latvian Parliament’s prompt ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement.

She also called on Latvia to support the viewpoint of Vietnam and ASEAN on settling East Sea dispute through peaceful means.
