National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan addresses an annual meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front

She told an annual meeting of the two agencies in Hanoi on Thursday that both sides need to work together to strengthen the great unity bloc, promote democracy, take care of revolutionary contributors, the poor,  and ethnic people. Ms. Ngan said: "In 2019, the National Assembly and its Standing Committee will conduct oversight of the implementation of polices and laws on planning, land use, and the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction in areas inhabited by ethnic groups and mountainous areas. These are hot issues as they directly concern people’s rights and interests. I call on the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Presidium to actively work with the National Assembly Standing Committee in oversight activities to live up to people’s expectations.”
