(VOVworld) – National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung yesterday met with Lao leaders. During the meeting with Lao President and Party General Secretary Chummaly Sayasone, Hung emphasized that bilateral political and economic relations are improving. He added that the commemoration of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year 2012 will educate the younger generation and serve as a historic landmark in Vietnam-Laos relations. The two leaders also agreed that strengthening and enhancing solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos is important to ensuring the success of national construction in each country.

Earlier, Hung met with Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong. He praised Thammavong’s contributions to bilateral relations, particularly in politics, economics, trade, and investment.
