At a meeting with the Finnish President in Helsinki on Friday, Chairman Hue expressed his wish that Finland will share its experience with Vietnam in digital transformation, innovation, sustainable development, and climate change action. He also asked Finland to offer favorable conditions for Vietnamese people living and working there.

Chairman Hue said the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) has been effectively implemented to benefit both sides. The EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) is being discussed for rectification. He asked the Finnish President to support the rectification of the EVIPA at the Parliament and recommended both countries take specific steps to take advantage of the agreements.

Both underscored that Vietnam and Finland are peace loving countries and share the same views on maintaining peace, stability, security, safety, and navigation freedom, and resolving disputes peacefully on the basis of international law and the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
