Lawmakers also approved an investment plan for the eastern section of the North-South Expressway for the 2021-2025 period.

The cost of the 730km section, estimated at more than 6.5 billion USD, will be covered by public investment capital.

At the closing session of the NA’s 4-day extraordinary session on Tuesday, Chairman Hue said lawmakers discussed crucial issues for the 2021-2025 period and beyond and made timely decisions in response to COVID-19 and urgent socio-economic requirements. National Assembly deputies contributed nearly 1,100 opinions and passed 1 law and 4 resolutions during the session, he said. 

“The success of the first extraordinary session gave us valuable lessons to organize similar events to deal with any contingencies in the future," said Chairman Hue.

"We are confident that with the encouraging outcome of the session, the involvement of the entire political system, and public support, we will fulfill tasks set for this year and until 2025."
