Mount Fuji records earliest snow in 13 years

(VOVWORLD) -Japan’s Mount Fuji recorded its earliest snow in 13 years Tuesday, 25 days earlier than average and 21 days earlier than last year, according to the nation’s meteorological agency.

The earliest snow recorded on Mount Fuji happened on August 9 in 2008, according to Japan's meteorological agency.

The highest mount in Japan (3.776 m), about 100 kilometers southwest of Tokyo, is a popular destination with its best view from late October to April the next year.
