Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday that it was regrettable that the US continues to enthusiastically play the sanctions against Russia after two years of trying to deflect responsibility for the coup in Ukraine, and now the deplorable consequences of the reign of its Kiev clients. The Foreign Ministry also stressed that the extension of sanctions are not conducive “to a settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, which has stalled because of the unwillingness of Kiev to fulfill the Minsk agreements on Russian-American relations and reflects a destructive way.” Moscow said that by systematically undermining the framework of bilateral relations, the US should be aware that it could undermine the possibility of interaction on key international problems, especially on security issues in which Washington has asked Moscow to assist.
