More COVID-19 vaccines to arrive in Vietnam toward year end

(VOVWORLD) - More COVID-19 vaccines will be available toward year end to help Vietnam achieve its goals of mass vaccination and economic recovery, said Deputy Foreign Minster Nguyen Minh Vu at a recent press briefing.

He said Vietnam’s reputation, international status, and a large network of partners who are willing to help it acquire vaccines are the country’s advantages in vaccine diplomacy.

“If our partners honor their commitments, I believe we will receive a large number of doses toward the end of the year, particularly this month," Mr. Vu said.

"We are focusing on implementing vaccine purchase agreements that the government and the Health Ministry have already signed, and boosting cooperation with potential partners, especially companies that produce vaccines for children.”

Vietnam has so far administered more than 47 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
