A joint statement from prosecutors and the Dutch Safety Board (OVV) said international and Dutch investigators are examining some fragments probably from a BUK (surface-to-air) missile system. The statement said the fragments could possibly provide more information about who was involved in the crash of flight MH17.”

Flight MH17 was shot down on July 17 last year as it was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. All 298 passengers and crew were killed. Ukraine and many in the West have accused separatists of shooting down the plane. But the separatists denied any responsibility and point the finger at Ukraine’s military.
