Mekong Innovation Initiative launched to boost Vietnam’s digital economy

(VOVWORLD) -Mekong Innovation Initiative (MII) was launched on Tuesday to support Vietnam in promoting the digital economy and the Fourth Industrial Revolution through developing human resources that are more dynamic and ready for digital transformation.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) have initiated the project, which will mobilize and connect resources to support innovation in the Mekong Delta region

It will help meet the growing demand for digital skills of Vietnam's economy by training 500 participants in the Mekong Delta in digital transformation and e-commerce skills, opening new job opportunities.

The initiative will contribute to enhancing Vietnam's own efforts in raising the level of the workforce and implementing the National Strategy for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
