Online government meeting on COVID-19 prevention and control

Delegates discussed a temporary guidance on safe, flexible adaptation and effective containment of the pandemic with prompt roadmaps for localities.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked ministries, sectors, localities, and relevant agencies to strengthen the health care system, particularly clinics at the grassroots level and prepare mobile clinics. He stressed the importance of strictly implementing disease prevention measures, accelerating vaccination, increasing treatment medicine supplies, strengthening technological application, and improving people’s awareness.

The Prime Minister said it’s important to finalize and implement the master strategy on pandemic prevention and control to safely adapt to the pandemic situation with proactive forecast and prompt scenarios. He said plans for reopening needs to be implemented in an effective manner. The Prime Minister said the government, ministries, and agencies are doing their utmost to deliver vaccines to the people and strengthening research and technology transfer for domestic vaccine production. Vietnam aims to vaccinate one dose of COVID-19 vaccine to 90% of the population aged over 18 by the end of this year.
