(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s branch in Thua Thien Hue province and the local authority organized a mass to pray for a prosperous, peaceful nation and people at Huong Van Monastery in Hue city.

Thousands of Buddhist followers and tourists attended the event to wish for good luck in the new year. The function also aims to spread the spirit of unity, patriotism, national defense and self-control. In the coming days, the Monastery will hold prayers twice a day and host folk activities such as calligraphy, portrait painting, Chinese chess, martial arts performances, and flower arranging to encourage peaceful lives.
